Server features

An independent reimplementation of Warspear, from combat mechanics to a wider world shaped by the community.

These are project goals, not a list of completed features. Development priorities will evolve with the community.

A complete world, rebuilt together.

Our ambition is to build the first feature-complete Warspear private server: an independent reimplementation of the mechanics and systems players know from the original game.

Earn your next upgrade.

Build your character through arena wins, Imperial purchases and shared account amplification unlocks. Greatness gear unlocks separately for each character.

Opponents around the clock

We plan to deploy a suite of machine-learning AI opponents on the server, aiming for Arena practice 24/7, even when no other players are online. These bots are a development goal, not an available feature yet.

Help shape the realm

This is a project to build with the community. Suggest ideas, find and document bugs, compare observed behavior, and help reimplement mechanics from the original game.

Our server. A connection patch.

Our distribution policy is patch-only: we will not ship Warspear game assets or original game code. Players will need their own lawfully obtained client; our patch is intended to connect it to our independently implemented server.

Beyond the Arena

Mechanics and PvP come first, but the wider goal includes reimplementing quests and dungeons. Over time, we may recreate the full PvE experience, depending on community participation and the traction of the project.

A home for your favorite version

If the community and project growth support it, we may offer version-specific releases: revisit an earlier era or keep a realm at a chosen point in the game. This is a possibility to explore together, not a release commitment.

A possible open-source future

We may eventually release the project as open source so anyone can run their own server and create their own classes, items, quests, NPCs, mobs, sprites and maps. A future release could also let creators change game code. The scope, licensing and timing are still to be decided; this is a possibility, not an announced release.
